Day 3 Lyric Challenge

My sincere thanks to Rev. Paul for nominating me for a ‘3 day Lyric Challenge’

This is the 3 rd and final of the 3 day challenge

Please do check his wonderful blog at Parallax , the title of his blog, which is self explanatory, telling the readers that all of us have different views and opinions, just like Parallax and how we all can be compassionate and understanding and respect others view point. His other interests include social justice, inter-faith dialogue, environmentalism, and community development.
My choice for Day 3 and final lyrical Challenge is ‘Another day in Paradise’ by Phil Collins

Collins sings the song from a third-person perspective, as he observes a man crossing the street to ignore a homeless woman, and he implores listeners not to turn a blind eye to homelessness because, by drawing a religious allusion, “it’s just another day for you and me in paradise“. Collins also appeals directly to God by singing: “Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do? Oh Lord, there must be something you can say.” (wikipedia)

Lyrics
She calls out to the man on the street
‘Sir, can you help me?
It’s cold and I’ve nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?’
He walks on, doesn’t look back
He pretends he can’t hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there
Oh think twice, it’s another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, ’cause it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, think about it
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she’s been crying
She’s got blisters on the soles of her feet
She can’t walk but she’s trying
Oh think twice, ’cause it’s another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, think about it
Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do
Oh Lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she’s been there
Probably been moved on from every place
Cause she didn’t fit in there
Oh think twice, ’cause another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, just think about it, think about it
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise, paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise, paradise
It’s just another day for you and me
It’s just another day for you and me
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
In paradise

My sincere thanks to Rev. Paul for nominating me for a ‘3 day Lyric Challenge’

My choice for Day 2 lyrical Challenge is Kansas song ‘Dust in the wind’ Kansas is an American rock band that became popular in the 1970s

The title of the song is a Bible reference, paraphrasing Ecclesiastes:

I reflected on everything that is accomplished by man on earth, and I concluded:

Everything he has accomplished is futile — like chasing the wind! ( wikipedia )

What does dust in the wind by Kansas mean ?

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment’s gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh, ho, ho
Now, don’t hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won’t another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

His other interests include  social justice, inter-faith dialogue, environmentalism, and community development.Lyric challenge day 1 -John Lenon

John Winston Ono Lennon was an English singer, songwriter, and peace activist who co-founded the Beatles,

My choice for Day 1 Lyrical challenge is his song Imagine

Its lyrics encourage the listener to imagine a world at peace without

the barriers of borders or the divisions of religion and nationality

and to consider the possibility that the whole of humanity would

live unattached to material possessions (Wikipedia)

Lyrics
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

What we see is not always true

CastleDale | Words Of Inspiration

seeI am sure you have come across situations where you believe and are almost 100% sure that what you see is true but later it turns out that you were wrong and someone else who tried telling you that earlier was right. Sometimes, we as humans make mistakes.

Here is a small story I read in a bulletin today – “A lady waiting at the airport terminal for her flight was carrying a bag of chips. She started eating it and noticed the person sitting next to her was also grabbing chips from her pack and having it. She felt terrible about it but did not want to create a scene. This went on until the last piece was left which the other man took broke it into half and took one half and gave the other half to the woman.

The woman felt disgusted by it and left the…

Oh Life ! My Dear Life !

RUN FOR ‘DEAR LIFE’

“Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must move faster than the lion or it will not survive. Every morning a lion wakes up and it knows it must move faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn’t matter if you are the lion or the gazelle, when the sun comes up, you better be moving.”

Maurice Greene (attributed to Roger Bannister shortly after running the first sub-4 m)

How do you feel about modern life of human beings?

Any different from animals?

As human beings we don’t literally do running, but Are we not into the  ‘Rat race’ to ‘Survive’ at the cost of ‘peace of mind’ & ‘lack of Sleep’?

I am trapped into the rat race…which doesn’t seem to end, neither I am able to come out,   in the middle of the race because there are no referees to allow this.

Please Give me your thoughts on how we are different and busy clinging to our lives, without any purpose.

Accept it.We all indulge in ‘Blame Game’

Blame game

Blame is a beautiful thing, baby. Blame keeps this whole planet spinning. You can point your finger at the next man, you can shift the weight onto him, you don’t have to carry that shit around yourself. You can slide into bed and get a good night’s nap. Yeah, right.

Narrator-Augustus Hill ( played by Harold Perrineau) from Oz tv series
Remember,

Blame is fascinating – it shapes our lives. It can be a benign way of positioning ourselves, a gentle joust or banter, or it can be poisonous, hurtful or devastating for its victims. It can tear apart marriages and fracture work relationships; it can disable major social programmes; it can inflict damage on powerful corporations; it can bring down governments; it can start wars and justify genocides.
Stephen Fineman, The Blame Business: The Uses and Misuses of Accountability

Don’t forget,

“All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won’t succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy.” Wayne Dyer
Any thoughts on how not to get trapped by the Blame game ?
Please share your views.

“Eat your food like your medicines or else you will eat your medicines like food”.

When diet is wrong,Medicine is of no use .When Diet is correct, there is no need of Medicine.

Ayurvedic Proverb

But sadly, many times we love to over eat, eat wrong food, and express lack of time for daily exercises. Many other  excuses are readily available.

Some of my friends who are diabetic, regulary eat sweets ( which is forbidden),and they come up with statements saying that their sugar is under control since they take their diabetic medicines regularly ,as if the diabetic medicines give them the licence to over eat the sweets.

Some other friends with Hypertension ( High blood Pressure ) eat food rich in salt, like pickles, salt laced chips etc.( salt is restricted for hypertensive patients).

They happily tell me that they are care free since medicines they take to control the BP, will also take care of their salt in the food.

What is your type ? Do You eat food and medicine also like my friends ?

If you ask me, yes,I find many times difficult to resist the food, over eat some times and take pancreatic enzyme tablets for better digestion, whenever I felt I overindulged.

What are your thoughts on this subject ?

Thanks for going through the post.

I’m Sorry though I’m not at fault…

Do you say sorry when it is not your fault ?

I believe forgiveness is the best form of love in any relationship. It takes a strong person to say they’re sorry and an even stronger person to forgive.

Is there any such thing called positive addiction ?

Positive addiction,addiction,negative addiction

The word ADDICTION sends jitters down the spines.

I know you started thinking of drugs, smoking, alcohol, gambling, sex, pornography, food, video games…..and the list goes on.

Human being is not immune to ‘weakness’.The greatness lies making the weakness into positive Strength.

Have we to think of addiction only in negative term ?

Can addiction be ‘Positive’ ?

Can’t we have ‘positive addiction’ ?

Example- People in order to to maintain a healthy life style may indulge in having

1.Vitamins.2.Fruits.3.Regular exercises.4.Body building 5 .consumption of water.6.Taking up the job, you are passionate.7.Reading.8.Spending more of family time.9.Dancing.etc.etc

Positive addiction is supposed to bring health ,happiness, strength, famiy bond, contentment, appreciation of the magnanimity of the Almighty, improve the wisdom and spirituality, above all bring the ‘Feel good factor ‘.

Remember not to over do it.Otherwise it becomes negative addiction.

I feel one can have ‘positive addiction’ without the component of ‘Negative consequences

Finally a question to the readers….

Can you name ‘healthy behaviour’ as ‘Positive Addiction’ ?

Is not ‘positive addiction’ contradicting the very definition of addiction ?

According to Wikipedia Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences”.

Please enlighten me further.

Are you still in the ‘Rat race’ ?

Rat race,compition,survival
“People here are funny. They work so hard at living, they forget how to live.” ― Robert Riskin, derivative Pixabay

‘Rat Race’ according to Wikipedia

A rat race is an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit. The phrase equates humans to rats attempting to earn a reward such as cheese, to no avail. It may also refer to a competitive struggle to get ahead financially or routinely.

Do I remember,when I joined the rat race ?

I am not sure,but I can recollect 1.My school days. 2.My college days.3 As an employee/consultant & 4. As I am aging.
My school days

school days,rat race,competition
picturequotes.com

I hate to get up early in the morning, but sadly that is the routine. With Heavy school bag and daily grinding,it used to be a tiresome job.
And remember plenty of examination schedules and so much pressure from parents,to get the first rank ,not in one subject but all the subjects and throughout schooling and the competition among students was heavy,as to who gets the first rank,so that one can be in good books of the teachers, principal etc.
Even in the school sports schedules, there is no let up.One has to get some medal without fail.
So much of rat race in schooling days. Why the rat race in schools ?Any idea ? It’s only for better ranking so that admission to my preferred colleges is easier.
My college days
Those days
Parents wished me to become a doctor since it was a respectable profession in the society and also better financial prospects.
To get an admission into the Medical college is the toughest compared to getting admission into the Engineering course. So To fulfill my parent’s wish I had to be part of the rat race and since I got selected in the Medical profession,I thought I have won the race. But,lo behold, still the process has not ended.
But just MBBS qualification( 5 yrs course) alone is not enough. We have to get admitted to the post graduation courses like MD/MS etc ( 3 yrs course),followed by specialized courses (radiology, neurosurgery etc) of another 3 to 5 yrs.
So the struggle continued.
At last I have got all the qualifications required + License to practice. But as a professional, freshly qualified, how I am going to be a successful practitioner ?Already ,the society is over saturated with Medical Practitioners. How I am ging to compete ? So the rat race saga continues.
As an employee/consultant
It was tough to get a decent job initially.
And to be accepted by the society…takes hell lot of time.
Then there is prestige issue.
Oh ! you are a doctor, how come you don’t have a car? Do you work in any prestigious hospital ? Are you Residing in small flat ? Are you in a rental house? shame on you ! Come on it is below your dignity….
These are the observations and comments from the friends, patients and well wishers.
To achieve some respectability I am supposed to own a bungalow,a car,a driver, and I should have my own hospital….what not ?
Added to this is a new addition to the family with the expenses sky rocketing …
So I have to work hard and harder,do extra duty hours, attend emergency calls,do regular night duties, to earn that little extra so that I can have my dignity and respect in the society.
Is this not all for the false prestige ?? What about family time ? Where is the happiness ?

As I am aging

My liabilities are increasing, due to reasonable or unreasonable demands, with commercial advertisement and new product release, adding to the agony and there is no chance of winning or coming out of rat race. So, more loans, mortgages, more liabilities become part and parcel of LIFE !
In Ilias Tisagklis words

A person entrenched into the “Rat Race” is the “proud” owner of a time consuming job which he desperately needs in order to be able to pay mortgage, rent, bills, credit card debt and all kinds of liabilities”

Eddie Murphy’s quote

Seventy-five years. That’s how much time you get if you’re lucky. Seventy-five years. Seventy-five winters, seventy-five springtimes, seventy-five summers, and seventy-five autumns. When you look at it like that, it’s not a lot of time, is it? Don’t waste them. Get your head out of the rat race and forget about the superficial things that pre-occupy your existence and get back to what’s important now.

Am I stuck in the quick sand ?

Probably one should remember the following quote in the early stages ……

rat race,compitition,struggle,human tendency
IS-movements.quotes.com

Finally

Often, people work long hard hours at jobs they hate, to earn money to buy things they don’t need, to impress people they don’t like. — Nigel Marsh
My sincere thanks for reaching this point.Huh ! I am exhausted in the rat race.Let me have some supplements !

How to escape Rat race ? Do you have any solutions or suggestions?

Please share your thoughts.

Are you a ‘wanting’ or a ‘giving’ personality?

Not enough,greedy
“Enough of any thing is plenty.but plenty to some people is not enough”Sophie Irene Loeb

First let us talk about ‘Wanting’ personalities-

More money ,more popularity, more pleasure, more likes in social media, more than 1000 friends/follows in social media, more achievements ( though positive ),more power one can go on… and remember, we are never tired of ‘wanting’ more. This has become a human trait.

Why you want more and more …..and even more ?

Probably you fear the ‘uncertain’ future, probably you are ‘greedy’.

These things make you develop desire, lust and finally, frustration if not successful and you may go into a dejection/depression/revengeful mode.

As the ‘ wanting’ personality, you are always obsessed with more and more demands and quick & positive outcome.

You are restless.

Can you survive a good relationship?( Wife, relatives and friends ).

The relationship can go sour since you are not getting what you wanted and when you get,it becomes incomplete since you have newer demands cropping up.

You are unhappy all the time.Neither you make people around you happy.

So you make yours and other’s lives miserable.

The point I am stressing is that you lost your commonsense and fail to know the difference between ‘love’ and ‘desire

“Love lasts a longtime but burning desire lasts two to three weeks” Carla Bruni

At the end who is happy?

Now let us talk of ‘Giving’ personalities…

Let us say, now that you, the ‘giving’ type, and we all know naturally, you are the happiest person on the earth.

But note down.’Giving’ personalities are of different types because their ‘giving’ pattern depends on factors like faith,Fear, self serving and spontaneous

  1. Faith- These people have faith in God, and depending upon their religion philosophy, they donate some percentage of their earnings.and become the givers.
  2. Fear- comes to some, since many bad things happening in their lives, they make commitments to do some charity, hoping to get compensated by the Almighty and may derive some satisfaction.
  3. Self serving- these are greedy people in real sense and they indulge in ‘giving’, since they expect returns. Some say one can continue  one’s sins by religiously donating some percentage of one’s illegal earnings to temples, churches etc.
  4. Spontaneous-These ‘givers’ are emotional type and they don’t hesitate to donate (even if they are poor),whenever they come across emotional incidences, which require monetary help.

If you are a ‘giving’ person, you are said to be guy with a kind heart, you enjoy the ‘feel good’ factor, you have a fulfillment and finally total satisfaction .Wait…….

Are you sure whom to give, when to give and how much to give ?

My feeling is…. the ‘giver’ must be judicious.

1.If you belong to too much ‘giving’ type-people may take advantage and even misuse your kindness.

2. Your continuous ‘giving’ habit can bring down motivation among the ‘takers’ and they may become lazy.

3.If you happen to be ‘giving’ to the ‘wanting’ personalities, then you are doing a great harm to your philosophy.

So there is some ‘ART’ which you have to follow if you belong to ‘giving’ trait.

Thank you so much for taking your time to reach this point.

Do you agree that  most of us belong  to both categories with variation in intensity?

Please share your thoughts on this.

Monkey Lessons

Monkey lessons
Taming my Monkey mind is a full-time job

Don’t think of yourself as an ugly person,

Think of yourself as a Beautiful Monkey -Soojie

Always I wonder How we are different from Animals.

As you can see in the above photo ,the big monkey( I presume ,the teacher ) with its back facing us, seems to be busy teaching its first morning lesson to the students.

You can also notice that three student monkeys are very attentive & disciplined and one monkey is a bit unhappy & restless .The baby monkey of course has a long time to go to learn the ropes.

This one reminded me of my school days ,where some students gel well with some teachers and not too happy with some other teachers even name calling etc.

I feel the whole thing depends on to what extent the teacher can ‘inspire’ his/her students.

CASTLE IN THE ‘SAND’

Castle the sand

“We are like children building a sand castle.

We embellish it with beautiful shells, bits of driftwood, and pieces of coloured glass.

The castle is ours, off limits to others. We’re willing to attack if others threaten to hurt it.

Yet despite all our attachment, we know that the tide will inevitably come in and sweep the sand castle away.

The trick is to enjoy it fully but without clinging, and when the time comes, let it dissolve back into the sea.”
Pema Chodron

Castles in the sand reminds me of the popular number in 2005 by the band ‘Philosopher Kings’ If you find time ,listen the song in the the you tube

Philosopher kings-Castles in the sand

Philosopher kings -Lyrics to ‘Castles In The Sand’

Built a perfect house in a perfect town
Dreamt a perfect dream and it all fell down
We held on tight like hungry lovers
Watched the day break from beneath the covers
Had to know for sure what it’s all about

Oh, this should be easy
Oh, just tell me we’re happy
Just building castles in the sand

I saw the naked light and it burned my eyes
Couldn’t look away no matter how I tried
I watched you explode when you think it’s over
And I burst in comin’ like a supernova
Had to track you down, had to find you out

Oh, this should be easy
Oh, just tell me we’re happy
Just building castles in the sand

And tides roll in, and waves get closer
The night was over
But we get stronger every time
We build our castles in the sand

Built a perfect house in perfect town
Dreamt a perfect dream and it all fell down

Oh, just tell me we’re happy,
Just building castles in the sand
Just building castles in the sand

Oh, just building castles in the sand
Just building castles in the sand

Methods for predicting the future: 1) read horoscopes, tea leaves, tarot cards, or crystal balls . . . collectively known as “nutty methods;” 2) put well-researched facts into sophisticated computer . . . commonly referred to as “a complete waste of time.” Scott Adams

  • One can predict the doom’s day so that best possible precautions can be taken in advance.
  • Majority of Indians believe in astrology and marriages, nuptials, foundation laying ceremonies,Ribbon cutting, naming ceremony of the newborn are a few examples where Astrology plays a siginificant role
  • One can go on adding…

Negative aspects of daily,weekly,yearly horoscopes

  • Unfavourable predictions can have a tremendous depressive impact.
  • Dejection
  • Suicidal tendencies.
  • Based on the positive predictions person may go on buying lotterry tickets, indulge in gambling etc and ruin the life and family.

  • Impulsive personalities can cause troubles to others and sometimes destructive.

Forget about the future…..Are not the current problems your own making ?

Do you believe in planning your future based on the fortune teller ?

Are you responsible for the ‘Ripple effect’ ??

Ripple,Ripple effectRipples can have positive or Negative effects on our lives.

Negative aspect of Ripples

If you try to stop the Ripples

You will create more ripples

Think before you throw the stone ”    Sheila Burke

Here the author talks of negative effects happening in the society. So think many times before you indulge in actions.

Examples.

Rumors will have ripple effects, so do not spread the rumours and remember , lynchings have happened.

Shooting from the mouth even before knowing the facts..

 Positive aspects of the ripples

You can create Positive Ripples in the world.

Every time you offer a kind word,Loving action

Empowering insight or Smile

Because,who ever receives it

Passes it on to someone,

Who then passes it on

Who the passes it on,

Who then passes it on,

Who then passes it on ”

Your behavior influences others through a ripple effect. A ripple effect works because everyone influences everyone else. Powerful people are powerful influences.‘John Heider’

Do You Friendly-walk ?

Friendly walk
Hand to shoulder

Always wonder what makes the INDIVIDUAL to put hand on other’s shoulder !
What is the feeling that makes one to do like this ?

Does this indicate closeness or even comfort level or a kind of assurance….I am not sure.
I am curious whether this kind of behavior seen in Western countries.

Westerners can give more insight into this aspect of human behaviour.

Blog this way…..not that way !!

What is the philosophy behind blogging ?

Blogging is a more flexible medium.

Here the you can express the emotions, share the life’s experience with blogging community.

You can prepare the article leisurely, develop common interest with other bloggers, be more inspirational and encouraging ,bringing happiness and smile in everyone involved.

How to blog ?

This is million dollar question.

You are enthusiastic. You wish to be heard. You realized that blogging is the easiest way to reach millions.

Then you are stuck.you are not sure of the topic, and most of the topics are already discussed, dissected and deciphered. Even if you decide to write a post you are not sure how much inspirational,it is going to be and you can not afford to be amateurish.

you want more likes, more comments and unlimited number of follows.

Your wish is to achieve these impossible tasks in the shortest time possible. But then how ?

That is where you can utilize the principle of Beg,Barrow & Steal.

Go through as many blog articles as possible, find out the various material available in tune with your interests, amalgamate the thought processes. Finally Come out successfully with your own ideas.

OMG! Is that the way you advice a  budding bloggers ?

Come on, don’t be mean.I never recommended plagiarism.Have patience and go through the Wise men’s quotes at the end.

Benefits of Beg-Barrow-Steal:

1. It can be innovative ,by mixing ideas.

2. Recycling the available knowledge pool can give you more creativity.

3. Creative Commons license allows you to  use its contents and you can come out with amazing products

Remember Never ,never indulge in Plagiarism

Don’t forget to give credit to the authors, from whom you gained confidence and the required knowledge.

Now coming to the Wise Men’s wise counsel

If you steal from one author it’s plagiarism. If you steal from many it is research. ‘Wilson Mizner

Good writers borrow from other writers.Great writers steal from them outright. ‘ Aaron Sorkin’

Good artists copy, great artists steal. ‘Plano Picasso’

If you have reached this point, I am thankful and appreciative of your patience.

Multitasking

Many people boast about their ability in Multitasking and even telling that, this is their single biggest achievement in their lives.

What is multitasking?

Well, initially it started as an ability of computer to do assigned jobs simultaneously, thus saving lot of time.

However the idea slowly creeped into the Human brains.

Also we are all aware that human brain thinks very high of itself all the time !!! Here is the example quoted humorously.

With age comes skills, it’s called multitasking. I can laugh, cough, sneeze & pee, all at the same time.

Joke apart, let me give you,  some day to day examples.

  • Talking over phone while cooking ( as Debra does in Everybody loves Raymond TV serials)
  • Driving the vehicle during a phone conversation.
  • Getting down the stairs, while talking over the phone.
  • Sending e-mails during a servious discussion.
  • Answering a phone call while attending a customer.I can go on and on.

“To do two things at a time is to do neither”  –  Pubillous Syrus in I st century BC

Multi tasking
Draining the brain reserves for nothing.

If you Carefully look In the above photo, you can notice the gentleman is doing multiple things at the same time.

1. Enjoying the songs through headphone.

2. Something kept in his mouth,I am not sure may be a red candy or a plastic card.

3. And he is also checking the currency notes in the purse.

“The irony of multitasking is that it’s exhausting: when you’re doing two or three things simultaneously, you use more energy than the sum of energy required to do each task independently. You’re also cheating yourself because your’re not doing anything excellently. You’re compromising your virtuosity. In the words of T. S. Elliot, you’re ‘distracted from distractions by distractions”.Twyla Tharp

The truth of multitasking well said by Heidi Klum

“I’m quite good at multitasking, but I have to do things immediately”

finally….. Remember  Multitasking is injurious to the brain-scientifically proved.

Thank you so much for your patience and taking your time to reach this point.

Bald Truth

Bald,baldness,bald truth

Unbelievable !                                                                                                                           21st century Surprise !!!

Prof.Dr.Google,single most respected and revered personality, without whose advice and support we are non existence, could not give me the exact definition and meaning of the idiom or phrase…(whatever you call it), of “Bald truth”

But I noticed many writers using these two words.I request the English Teaching professors to enlighten us how it originated.

As a student in my school days,I remember it implies ‘frankness’.

Can we also think of an alternate.. ‘Ugly Truth’ ?

Huh ! Why Truth has to be ugly always?

I Request English Pundits to guide and help me.

Now coming to the less serious part….

Bald Truth revealed by the wife, (regarding cause of her happiness) about her Bald Husband.

1. He doesn’t use my shampoo.

2. My brush is where, I leave it.

3. Easy to spot in a crowd.

4. Saves money on haircutes.

5. Will never have grey hair.

I will add my own. No need for dying the hair.

ba-bamail tells us 12 Fantastic Advantages of Going Bald

image-pixabay,www.sirhare.com

Honestly speaking……….

honesty,fairness

Let us be frank.
Let us be even brutally frank.

Is it possible to be honest 100%, throughout in your life ?

Are we honest with ourselves, or with our friends ?

Are we honest in our business or dealings ?

Are we honest with our colleagues ?

Are we honest with our spouses and children ?

Can you count the number of times, you lied so far ?

We lie to our children when they are, say between 2 to 7 yrs  that storks bring children ,Tooth Fairy or Father Christmas ,or telling a person on death bed not to worry and that he/she going to live longer etc.( of course with good intention to encourage the person)…just a few examples

we continue to lie each and every day to others, depending upon the situations and circumstances. This is a kind of ‘Escapism’ or ‘Giving Excuses’

Many a time we lie because we don’t want to embarrass.

You may also lie so as not to hurt others or may lie to get the things done.

What about ‘plagiarism’ ?

So lying is part and parcel of our life and you can’t separate the two.

Honesty hence not necessarily be the best policy, in certain situations.

What is your take  ? Please share your views.

“No such thing as a man willing to be honest-that would be like a blind man willing to see”    F.Scott Fitzgerald

Happiness in Childhood

Happy kids
How I wish I go back to my Childhood days !

Children are happy because they don’t have a file in their minds called”All the things that could go wrong” Marianne Williamson

Before you Judge me……….

put yourself in someone's shoes,judgmental

“Always put yourself  in other peoples shoes” A well known Idiom

Joke part of the idiom

“Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?…He is a mile away and you’ve got his shoes”.   Billy Connolly.

Remember the the whole world revolves around the ‘mind set’ and  every thought that crosses your mind is influenced by the ‘PERCEPTION’ which is already settled in your mind that can influence the outcome.

Real part of the Idiom

Is this idea of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes …does this really works all the time ?

For this idiom to work, one must have a through knowledge about three things.1.Empathy. 2.Sympathy and 3. Compassion.

Unless one possesses these three qualities, the idiom does not serve the purpose. The help, what you think you are lending to the needy, need not necessarily be appreciated by the needy since Needy’s perception of your help may be different and sometimes just opposite.
