Blog this way…..not that way !!

What is the philosophy behind blogging ?

Blogging is a more flexible medium.

Here the you can express the emotions, share the life’s experience with blogging community.

You can prepare the article leisurely, develop common interest with other bloggers, be more inspirational and encouraging ,bringing happiness and smile in everyone involved.

How to blog ?

This is million dollar question.

You are enthusiastic. You wish to be heard. You realized that blogging is the easiest way to reach millions.

Then you are stuck.you are not sure of the topic, and most of the topics are already discussed, dissected and deciphered. Even if you decide to write a post you are not sure how much inspirational,it is going to be and you can not afford to be amateurish.

you want more likes, more comments and unlimited number of follows.

Your wish is to achieve these impossible tasks in the shortest time possible. But then how ?

That is where you can utilize the principle of Beg,Barrow & Steal.

Go through as many blog articles as possible, find out the various material available in tune with your interests, amalgamate the thought processes. Finally Come out successfully with your own ideas.

OMG! Is that the way you advice a  budding bloggers ?

Come on, don’t be mean.I never recommended plagiarism.Have patience and go through the Wise men’s quotes at the end.

Benefits of Beg-Barrow-Steal:

1. It can be innovative ,by mixing ideas.

2. Recycling the available knowledge pool can give you more creativity.

3. Creative Commons license allows you to  use its contents and you can come out with amazing products

Remember Never ,never indulge in Plagiarism

Don’t forget to give credit to the authors, from whom you gained confidence and the required knowledge.

Now coming to the Wise Men’s wise counsel

If you steal from one author it’s plagiarism. If you steal from many it is research. ‘Wilson Mizner

Good writers borrow from other writers.Great writers steal from them outright. ‘ Aaron Sorkin’

Good artists copy, great artists steal. ‘Plano Picasso’

If you have reached this point, I am thankful and appreciative of your patience.

Multitasking

Many people boast about their ability in Multitasking and even telling that, this is their single biggest achievement in their lives.

What is multitasking?

Well, initially it started as an ability of computer to do assigned jobs simultaneously, thus saving lot of time.

However the idea slowly creeped into the Human brains.

Also we are all aware that human brain thinks very high of itself all the time !!! Here is the example quoted humorously.

With age comes skills, it’s called multitasking. I can laugh, cough, sneeze & pee, all at the same time.

Joke apart, let me give you,  some day to day examples.

  • Talking over phone while cooking ( as Debra does in Everybody loves Raymond TV serials)
  • Driving the vehicle during a phone conversation.
  • Getting down the stairs, while talking over the phone.
  • Sending e-mails during a servious discussion.
  • Answering a phone call while attending a customer.I can go on and on.

“To do two things at a time is to do neither”  –  Pubillous Syrus in I st century BC

Multi tasking

Draining the brain reserves for nothing.

If you Carefully look In the above photo, you can notice the gentleman is doing multiple things at the same time.

1. Enjoying the songs through headphone.

2. Something kept in his mouth,I am not sure may be a red candy or a plastic card.

3. And he is also checking the currency notes in the purse.

“The irony of multitasking is that it’s exhausting: when you’re doing two or three things simultaneously, you use more energy than the sum of energy required to do each task independently. You’re also cheating yourself because your’re not doing anything excellently. You’re compromising your virtuosity. In the words of T. S. Elliot, you’re ‘distracted from distractions by distractions”.Twyla Tharp

The truth of multitasking well said by Heidi Klum

“I’m quite good at multitasking, but I have to do things immediately”

finally….. Remember  Multitasking is injurious to the brain-scientifically proved.

Thank you so much for your patience and taking your time to reach this point.

Bald Truth

Bald,baldness,bald truth

Unbelievable !                                                                                                                           21st century Surprise !!!

Prof.Dr.Google,single most respected and revered personality, without whose advice and support we are non existence, could not give me the exact definition and meaning of the idiom or phrase…(whatever you call it), of “Bald truth”

But I noticed many writers using these two words.I request the English Teaching professors to enlighten us how it originated.

As a student in my school days,I remember it implies ‘frankness’.

Can we also think of an alternate.. ‘Ugly Truth’ ?

Huh ! Why Truth has to be ugly always?

I Request English Pundits to guide and help me.

Now coming to the less serious part….

Bald Truth revealed by the wife, (regarding cause of her happiness) about her Bald Husband.

1. He doesn’t use my shampoo.

2. My brush is where, I leave it.

3. Easy to spot in a crowd.

4. Saves money on haircuts.

5. Will never have grey hair.

I will add my own. No need for dying the hair.

ba-bamail tells us 12 Fantastic Advantages of Going Bald

Honestly speaking……….

honesty,fairness

Let us be frank.
Let us be even brutally frank.

Is it possible to be honest 100%, throughout in your life ?

Are we honest with ourselves, or with our friends ?

Are we honest in our business or dealings ?

Are we honest with our colleagues ?

Are we honest with our spouses and children ?

Can you count the number of times, you lied so far ?

We lie to our children when they are, say between 2 to 7 yrs  that storks bring children ,Tooth Fairy or Father Christmas ,or telling a person on death bed not to worry and that he/she going to live longer etc.( of course with good intention to encourage the person)…just a few examples

we continue to lie each and every day to others, depending upon the situations and circumstances. This is a kind of ‘Escapism’ or ‘Giving Excuses’

Many a time we lie because we don’t want to embarrass.

You may also lie so as not to hurt others or may lie to get the things done.

What about ‘plagiarism’ ?

So lying is part and parcel of our life and you can’t separate the two.

Honesty hence not necessarily be the best policy, in certain situations.

What is your take  ? Please share your views.

“No such thing as a man willing to be honest-that would be like a blind man willing to see”    F.Scott Fitzgerald

Key to failure,pleasing,Key to failure

“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to

please everybody”

‘unknown’

First of all I do not understand why on the earth one has to go on and on……pleasing each and every one ! The fact is… even on many occasions you can’t please your own kith & Kin.

“Trying to please everyone is a recipe for stress, misery and frustration. Be yourself. It’ll be good to know who’s down with that”

Thursday Thoughts

Life is a roller coaster

I have to tell you.Every day is a roller coaster ‘Rush Limbaugh’

Life is like a roller coaster.

You can either scream every time there is a bump or

You can throw your hands up and enjoy the ride.

Life is hard ….and….

Life is hard,

“Life is hard, but we make it much harder.” – Ryan Holiday Image-Pixabay

1.When I hear somebody say ‘Life is hard’, I am always tempted to ask ‘compared to what’ ?-     Sydney J Harris

2.Life is hard. After all, it kills you. – Katharine Hepburn

3.Life is hard, but not impossible. –Positive life

4.“Don’t pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.” –Bruce Lee

5.“I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders.” Jewish Proverb

6.“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” – Wayne Dyer

7.No matter how bad things are, you can always make things worse. Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

8.The hardest thing to find in life is happiness – money is only hard to find because it gets wasted trying to find happiness                                                                                                      – funny quotes.com

9.I focused so hard on what I wanted, that I lost sight of what I deserved.               Curiano.com

Before you Judge me……….

put yourself in someone's shoes,judgmental

“Always put yourself  in other peoples shoes” A well known Idiom

Joke part of the idiom

“Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?…He is a mile away and you’ve got his shoes”.   Billy Connolly.

Remember the the whole world revolves around the ‘mind set’ and  every thought that crosses your mind is influenced by the ‘PERCEPTION’ which is already settled in your mind that can influence the outcome.

Real part of the Idiom

Is this idea of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes …does this really works all the time ?

For this idiom to work, one must have a through knowledge about three things.1.Empathy. 2.Sympathy and 3. Compassion.

Unless one possesses these three qualities, the idiom does not serve the purpose. The help, what you think you are lending to the needy, need not necessarily be appreciated by the needy since Needy’s perception of your help may be different and sometimes just opposite.

How Putting Yourself in Someone Else’s Shoes May Backfire

Gossip

Gossip

“Show me someone who never gossips, and I will show you someone who is not interested in people”-Barbara walters

How True it is !!

As you can see in the photograph , two Lazy citizens busily ‘gossiping’ in spite of the ‘heavy downpour’

“Gossip is like Three Color Traffic Signal

RED stands for the vicious tongue that starts and spreads it

YELLOW is for the sick mind that listens and enjoys it, While

GREEN is the naive Character, who believes & acts based on it

‘ Amaka Ojukwu

Puddle Thoughts

Life is too short to worry

Life is a bubble

Puddle Thoughts…….

“Imagine a Puddle waking up one morning and thinking
This is an interesting world I find in,
Fits me rather neatly,
Does n’t it ?
In fact it fits me staggeringly well,
must have been made to have me in it !’
This is such a powerful idea that – as the Sun rises in the sky & the Air heats up and as the Puddle gets smaller & smaller ,it still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything is going to be alright, because the world is meant have him in it, mind you it was built to have him in it….so the moment he disappears…..catches him rather by surprise.

I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.”

Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt

What way our Life is different from Puddle thoughts ?

We always think  we are eternal & think that our death is million years away and go on with our mundane activities, fighting with neighbours, harbouring jealousy, busy with gossip, burning the body with   hatred, even disrespecting  our elders, younger, and   kith & kin, Behave arrogantly ….forgetting that our life can end …the next second.

Don’t we all waste our  our precious time  in never ending worries & Useless fights?

So let us start enjoining every second of our life !

“We are all one….but many”

United we stand

United we stand .    Many times we come across funny coincidences but fail to notice..As you see in the above photo, both the lady and the tall gentleman probably trying to cross the road , concentrating the oncoming traffic. Both of them have their right hand kept on the waist ( the position one usually keeps, if one has backache ). Not only that, as you observe even the hand position and finger directions are also  similar !

One God, many faces.
One family, many races.
One truth, many paths.
One heart, many complexions.
One light, many reflections.
One world, many imperfections.
ONE.
We are all one,
But many.”
- Suzy Kassem, Rise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem

Tension Free…. Stress Free…you think it’s a distant dream ?

As you are busy with fast paced life , you are left with lots of tension, anxiety resulting in stress.you start thinking as if all the problems happening to you only.

Just relax. All of are undergoing the same, at one time or the other. You can neither run away from the problems, nor start dreaming of positive thoughts,The two popular advices..easier said than followed…

Just listen to the quotes by unknown and known wise souls.

If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If a problem cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

Worries and tensions are like birds , We cannot stop them from flying near us, But we can certainly stop them from making a nest in our mind.

The tension you feel from one person may be the tension you are causing for another.

Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away today’s peace.

Stress is the trash of modern life we all generate it, but if you don’t dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life.

Maturity is achieved when a person accepts life as full of tension. – Joshua L. Liebman

Stress is caused by being ‘here’ but wanting to be ‘there.’
– Eckhart Tolle

How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then to rest afterward.
– Spanish proverb
